Portfolio Performance is an application (available on desktop and mobile) that allows you to reconstruct a portfolio and analyze its performance in detail. Our team publishes the .xml files online, which allows you to see how any given portfolio from the 40° North Fund is doing. Download Portfolio Performance from https://www.portfolio-performance.info/en/ to view the files.
You can also enable live one-way sync* of the .portfolio files on your device so that you can see the performance of our portfolios in real time as the Fund makes transactions. Here's how to do so:
Desktop
Download & Install Google Drive for Desktop and log in to your Google account.
Open the Portfolio Files folder, right click the .portfolio file you want and click Organize > Add Shortcut. You can put this shortcut anywhere in your Google Drive, but it is recommended that you create a folder dedicated to files for the 40° North Fund.
Download and launch Portfolio Performance, click File > Open, then navigate to the location where you just added the shortcut. (Typically a path like G:\My Drive\40° North Fund\portfolio_name.portfolio)
That's it! Now, whenever the Fund updates the file, it will update in your app. In order to ensure that you have the latest version, close and reopen the file or exit and relaunch the app, which pulls the latest shared file from your Google Drive.
Mobile
Download Portfolio Performance from the App Store or Google Play.
Download & Install the Google Drive App and log in to your Google account.
In the Drive app, open the Portfolio Files folder, open the context menu for the .portfolio file you want and click Open In. Wait for it to load, then select Portfolio Performance.
That's it! Now, whenever the Fund updates the file, it will update in your app. In order to ensure that you have the latest version, reopen the file from the Drive app (repeat step 3 above).
*Whenever the 40° North Fund makes a transaction and updates the appropriate .portfolio file, it will automatically update on your device and in your Portfolio Performance app (you may need to reload the file or reopen the app to see the latest version). However, you will not be able to make edits to this file. You may make a copy and save it somewhere else, but you will only have read access to the file that automatically syncs with the Fund. Updates generally take up to 3 minutes to automatically sync through Google Drive.
